Mdm TAN is a lonely 60 year old lady who lives alone in Sin Ming Avenue. Her life took a complete turn when she sees the local authorities catching wild chickens in her estate. In a bid to save the wild chickens, she decides to catch the wild chickens herself and put them inside her tiny flat. As Mdm TAN learns to live with them and develop a bond, she realises that it won't be long before the authorities will catch up to her.

Jun CHONG is interested in the stories that connect us on a deeper level. As a storyteller, he likes to seek the most personal, as they offer a greater insight to our condition. His debut short film KE premiered in Busan International Film Festival 2017 and was also the alumnus of the prestigious Asian Film Academy. The film went on to clinch the “Best Asian Short Film” and “Best Actress” in Sapporo Short Fest 2018 and went on to screen in Atlanta Film Festival. His second short film Autumn, which was made during his artist residency in Hokkaido, premiered in Vienna. His third short film New Resident premiered online to a wide audience after facing rejection from the local authorities due to the content of the film.

新加坡地狹人稠，街頭動物生存的空間也有限。新明道一帶存在許多野雞，2017年政府接獲投訴，展開撲殺雞隻的行動。身為當地居民的張峻峰導演，萌生了為鄰居-野雞發聲的念頭，籌拍劇情片《新民》。片中獨居老婦為了拯救野雞，偷偷將牠們抓進公寓，構成雞隻滿屋的奇景。導演為遵守法規，特地租下無人使用的大樓，在雞群願意配合的狀態下才能拍出好鏡頭。由雞擔任演員的片場會發生哪些事？一起聽導演分享吧！
