A postman tossed a letter to Watan, as the middle-aged Atayal man, bathing
in the sunshine of the early morning, was still sound asleep in a hangover.
The letter about the discovery of his wallet buried in the cement fell
on Watan¡¦s face, just like the droppings of a bird. Watan belongs to one
of the aboriginal tribes on the island of Formosa. From then on, whenever
he had some wine, the letter, as if in the form of Pegasus, would come
to his mind unexpectedly. Then, the light of his eyes would soon be dimmed
in the distant search for the dream of his young days. He decided to go
back to the city for the wallet he lost ten years ago, as well as for
his dream of the field of millet.
Xiao Mo was a young man working in a Japanese restaurant. He was leading
a decadent life and self-consciously knew that he was lost. In the daytime,
his mouth bulged with Japanese language and sashimi. At night, he was
hanging around in the cabarets bordering the margins of the city, making
phone calls seeking one-night stands. Until one night, he received a weird
phone call from a girl, who, whispering in a little bit sad tone, asked
him to listen to her story, a love story about a field of millet¡K

Born in I-lan County of northeastern Taiwan. After graduating from the
university in 1982, Wen-Tang started his career in the film industry as
a script writer and assistant director, and produced various TV drama
        series and commercial films.
His screenplay, The Poet and A-De, won an award from the Government Information
Bureau in 1996. Later on, Director Wan Jan adapted the screenplay into
a film, Connection by Fate. Persistent in his concern for the aborigines,
in 1998 Wen-Tang produced his first film on the subject, Postcard, a short
film with 16 mm, which won the Special Award of ¡§1999 Taipei Films Festival.¡¨
In 2000, he made Vanity Fair of Tan-Sui for a Public Television Station,
marking the conclusion of his TV river trilogy. His latest released 35
mm film, Somewhere Over the Dreamland (2002), witnesses his transformation
from the ethnographic documentary style to drama.

Man-Li always lives in the normal track as everybody considers. After
graduating from school to society, she keeps each job with caution and
fear. Unless she finds a new job, she won¡¦t quit the current one easily.
This time is quite different. She resigned and had no idea what to do
next. She just thought to make a change of her lifestyle. However, what
will it look like? She doesn¡¦t know either. Her boyfriend proposed the
thought of getting married. She doesn¡¦t feel like working but it doesn¡¦t
necessarily mean that she has to choose marriage. Waves kept patting the seashore of the night dream¡K¡Ka feeling was gradually
brewed, swelled, unlimitedly developed and grew in strength!
What does the voice of waves in the dream draw on earth?
