故事發生在中國南方一座寧靜村落。一名站在成年門檻上的18歲少年，在面對未來的迷惘之際，從四個孩子的日常生活中重新看見自己的成長經歷。四段關於童年、家庭與離別的故事彼此交織，也映照出少年即將告別的過往。影片透過不同孩子的生命片段，描繪成長中的孤獨、韌性與微小希望，呈現一幅關於故土、親情、留守童年與個體成長的情感圖景。
In Where the Sun Shines Bright, an 18-year-old boy facing the uncertainty of adulthood finds his own story reflected in the lives of four children growing up in the same village in southern China. Their parallel journeys unfold through moments of separation, family bonds, loneliness, and resilience. As the boy looks back on the childhood he is about to leave behind, the film weaves together five interconnected stories, tracing the fragile brightness of growing up and the enduring ties between children, family, and the place they call home.

藍燦昭，1994年生於廣東潮州，中國導演、編劇及製片人。20歲以低成本長片《狗》開啟導演生涯。2023年，其參與監製、編劇及剪輯的《夏至前天》入選第76屆坎城影展電影基石單元；2024年，執導的《夏日句點》獲第74屆柏林影展新生代單元最佳短片，並入圍第98屆奧斯卡最佳實景短片長名單。2026年，長片《陽光燦爛的地方》於第48屆莫斯科國際影展世界首映。其創作深植中國南方地域文化，關注成長、家庭與鄉村生活。
Lam Can-zhao, born in Chaozhou, China in 1994, is a filmmaker, screenwriter and producer. He made his directorial debut at 20 with the low-budget feature The Dog. In 2023, A Bright Sunny Day, which he produced, wrote and edited, was selected for La Cinef at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. In 2024, his short A Summer’s End Poem won Best Short Film at the 74th Berlinale Generation Kplus and was longlisted for Best Live Action Short Film at the 98th Academy Awards. In 2026, his feature Where the Sun Shines Bright had its world premiere at the 48th Moscow International Film Festival. Rooted in the culture and landscapes of southern China, his work often explores childhood, family and rural life.

我出生於廣東潮州的一個寧靜村落，18歲離鄉求學，直到28歲才帶著劇組重返故鄉。長期駐村拍攝，讓我重新看見這片土地，以及留在村裡的老人與孩子。這段經歷孕育了《夏日句點》，也讓我意識到，電影最珍貴的力量，是讓那些微弱的聲音被世界聽見。《陽光燦爛的地方》延續了我與故鄉的連結。透過五個相互映照的成長故事，我希望記錄孩子們的堅韌、對歸屬的渴望，以及中國鄉村正在發生的安靜而有力量的變化。
I was born in a peaceful village in Chaozhou, China. I left home at 18 to study in Guangzhou and returned a decade later with a film crew. Spending an extended period filming there allowed me to see my hometown again—the landscape, the elderly, and the children who remained as younger generations moved to the cities.
This experience inspired A Summer’s End Poem and taught me that cinema’s most precious power is its ability to let quiet voices be heard by the world. Where the Sun Shines Bright continues this connection with my hometown. Through five interconnected stories of growing up, I hope to capture the children’s resilience, their search for belonging, and the quiet yet powerful changes taking place in rural China.
