DARLING MOTHER: MULTIPERSPECTIVITY is a feminist-dance theater-participatory performance. The film discusses motherhood and how a woman is formed when conforming to social structure.

The meaning of B-side can be associated with the words “beside” or “besides”, as well as referring to the B-side of a cassette tape. A cassette has two sides. Side A and Side B. The A side of a cassette has the main content. The B-side of the cassette is often never listened to. This film explores the B-side. An experimental and documentary approach is utilized to reveal the easily overlooked aspects.

Han-Ling CHUANG

Han-Ling CHUANG, born in 1994 at Taichung Taiwan, queer, pansexual, pronouns:any, currently focused on gender issues. Han established L.I.N.G.Presents in 2021, regarding body as the prime medium in practicing single-discipline and transdisciplinary creations.

作者以現場錄影、監視器、線上會議等影像素材，如鬼魂般遊走的觀點鏡頭、特寫、手持等電影語言，除試圖打破戲劇展演現場的物理時空外，更解放了觀者囿於戲劇現場的單一視角／觀點。

DARLING MOTHER: MULTIPERSPECTIVITY is mainly focused on “the process and the way a woman is formed”, discussing “domestication” and “sexuality” as subtopics. The piece takes a dance theater approach to discover the routine and defined body language for women. Seven cisgender female performers flow between the linear of patriarchy, metaphorizing women becoming an accomplice of the structure.

Beside on-scene performance, the audience were invited to a zoom conference where they could live-stream what they videoed to the Facebook fan page of L.I.N.G.Presents. In this way, it not only provided another watching opportunity during the pandemic, but investigated again the possibilities of performing arts.

Afterwards, the production team edited videos from the on-scene performance, from those taken by the audience, and from the zoom conference. Then, the edited videos were transformed into DARLING MOTHER_B-SIDE, which became an independent film work.
