"People who have been abandoned by their family can only seek reunion with their second parent."

Mads, a depression sufferer, is not accepted by her family. She wanders to find where she belongs and who will love her. After a failed suicide attempt to jump off a building, her life swings between the chaos of her symptoms and fleeting moments of happiness, continuing her journey with trauma and sequelae.

Will she find the “haven” and be accepted by society this time?

WANG Shao-Fan

I am Shao-Fan Wang, an independent filmmaker. I have worked as a journalist, deeply concerned about the impact of social change on human beings. I have investigated and exposed social issues such as industrial pollution, land speculation, and death from overwork. My novel and photography have also won awards.

Due to personal and many friends’ suffering from physical and mental symptoms, I began to explore mental and physical illnesses, trying to make the public understand the situation and feelings of patients, thereby reducing stigma and providing assistance.

The filmmaker, also a patient, adopts a participatory observational filming method. By closely interacting with the main character, they face symptoms and issues together. The film aims to make the audience immerse deeply in the sensory world of patients, realizing and empathizing with the pain they feel internally, and the difficulties they face in the external world.
