A red flag was plug in the ground and fluttered in the wind. The political prisoner sent his father and son back to the hometown for asylum, but threats are still ubiquitous. It's just like the strong wind of their hometown. “The red” has already penetrated every corner of the country.

Zi-En WU
Zi En WU (born in 1990 in Taiwan) major in department of filmmaking in Taipei National University of the Arts. And participated in the Golden Horse Film Academy in 2012. His short film, Hsiang Yi was selected for the Vancouver International Film Festival. In recent years, Zi En WU has focused on the threat of regional politics and totalitarian rule. He wants to reflect the situation and victimization of the people under totalitarianism through his works.

《田中的紅旗幟》預言赤化之後的台灣社會，吳季恩參考香港反送中運動實況，消息時時更新，已是劇本無法追趕地暴烈。實地走訪香港，年輕人恐懼仍不得不上街的身影，添增了他的擔憂。
吳季恩引用大學導師易智言的話：「拍片很貴，又花時間，那你為什麼要拍片？答案是『我有話要說。』」失根、失去自由是導演極大的憂慮，面對不同世代紛雜的立場，他以創作作為行動，也讓家人開始對政治改觀...
