Maurice LAI
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Maurice currently resides in Tainan. He holds an MFA in Cinema Production from the School of Film and Television of The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Beside being one of the founders of the Utopia Cantonese Opera Workshop, he has also established himself as a prominent dance filmmaker in both Hong Kong and Taiwan. In addition to his creative work, Maurice serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the School of Dance at Taipei National University of the Arts and the College of Arts at Tainan University of Technology. In 2020, he founded the HoShunKing Artistic Workshop in Taiwan. His contributions to dance film and video dance have been recognised with numerous international awards.
