在一座如孤島的山坡上，一群漢生病人因一世紀的隔離而沈睡著，突如其來的機廠迫遷打破寂靜，二十年來，面對家園迫遷、強權抹去歷史，他們覺醒，要用餘生刻下曾活過的痕跡。在這孤島上，大風不曾停止，人抓不到風，但樹可以，用搖枝落葉證明風曾來過。
As Taiwan’s iconic grassroots movement, the Losheng Sanatorium struggle pits residents against eviction and demolition. For decades, these patients have shared deep bonds with this land through illness and aging. Filmed over 20 years, this documentary chronicles their lives—full of love and spirit, yet defined by a fierce fight against being forgotten by history.

芝加哥藝術學院（SAIC）碩士，創作橫跨劇情、紀錄與實驗電影，致力從真實汲取養分，以人性視角描繪當代議題，持續以影像回應社會議題與個人生命經驗。作品屢獲國際肯定，包含：《樂生活》曾獲香港ifva亞洲新勢力首獎、《The River》入選美國安娜堡影展；紀錄長片《大風之島》歷時二十年拍攝，奪下台北電影獎百萬首獎、最佳紀錄片及最佳剪輯三獎，並入圍金馬獎最佳紀錄片，且獲得坎城市場展IEFTA首獎肯定。
Graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Hsu’s work spans narrative, documentary, and experimental film. She utilizes a humanistic lens to address contemporary issues, using cinema to respond to social themes and personal experiences.
Her acclaimed works include Life with Happiness, Gold Award winner at the Hong Kong ifva Awards, and The River, selected for the Ann Arbor Film Festival. Her feature documentary, Island of the Winds, filmed over twenty years, swept the Taipei Film Awards—winning the Grand Prize, Best Documentary, and Best Editing. It was also nominated for a Golden Horse Award and received the IEFTA Award at the Cannes Marché du Film.

這二十年來，幾乎佔據我半生時光。眼見迫遷持續、壓迫未減，那種無力與負疚的沈重羈絆始終縈繞不去；而最強大的連結，始終源於這片土地與這群人。我相信，這部片不單是政治運動的紀錄或漢生病的悲歌，而是一則能與全人類共鳴的人性故事。它將化作一座橋樑，讓受困於疾苦的人與健康的人在此相遇。終有一天，疾病會消逝，院民會老去，記憶或許無後代承襲，但電影將永遠鐫刻他們存在的痕跡——生者將接過火炬，為逝者繼續傳述這段生命之歌。
For twenty years, my gaze has been drawn to Losheng Sanatorium, a crucible of resilience. Witnessing the residents' extraordinary fight against eviction, I confronted the fragility of democracy through their struggle and the power of their spirit.Spending my formative years alongside them, my camera became a silent observer as they faced mortality, their connection to their land and will to live unbroken. This film is more than a chronicle; it is an intimate witnessing of unwavering belief, challenging "official" narratives to amplify the enduring power of their memory.
