老李的妻子過世後，兒子把他從山東小鎮接到自己工作的大城市照顧。脫離過去社區的老李很孤獨，但由於觀念，地域和方言的隔閡，他無法融入新社區。他在公園遇到了一對老人，其中一個和他有很多話題，另一個不歡迎他。老李是一位老兵，為老部隊拍攝紀念日影片的任務迫使他回到公園尋找他們。他努力融入，最後被接納，但此時他卻意識到對方是同性戀，而自己的兒子可能和他們一樣，他生氣離去。然而一些遭遇和往事啟發了他，他選擇又一次來到公園。
After the death of his wife, Lao Li’s son moves him from their small Shandong town to a bustling city for better care. Isolated from his familiar community, Lao Li feels lonely and struggles to fit in due to cultural, regional, and dialect barriers. In a local park, he meets two elderly men. One shares common interests, while the other is unwelcoming. As a veteran, Lao Li’s task of filming a video for his old unit brings him back to the park. He tries to integrate and is eventually accepted, but then discovers they are gay and suspects his son might be too. Angered, he leaves. However, past encounters and memories lead him to a change of heart, and he chooses to return to the park once more.

李岩，男，35歲。 2011年大學畢業後，一直從事廣告創意工作。 2023年辭職，進入北京電影學院導演系進修一年，編劇導演畢業短片《是公園》。後參加深圳市灣區短片創作季創投，成功入選3強孵化作品，編劇導演短片《龍崗沒有小魔仙》。目前正在創作長片劇本。
Li Yan, a 35-year-old filmmaker, has spent over a decade in advertising as a creative professional. In 2023, he enrolled in the Directing program at the Beijing Film Academy. “In the Park” is his graduation work. He later participated in the Shenzhen Bay Area Short Film Creation Season, where his project “no magic in life” was among the top three selected for incubation. Li Yan is currently working on his first feature film script, showcasing his transition from advertising to filmmaking.

公園是公共的，公園裡卻沒有公共生活。我關注當下社會越來越嚴重的撕裂問題，認為人應該跨越觀念的分歧，尋求公共對話的空間，而這正是公園最初被發明的原因。這個故事更大的脈絡是中國社會近幾十年來城市化進程的結果，經濟和觀念發展之間的錯位，造成了當下的種種對立。我希望重新強調一次「公共」的精神，藉由公園這樣一個具有像徵意義的敘事空間，講述一種共存與接納的可能，想像一種更好的公共生活。
In modern society, parks, once envisioned as spaces for public life, often lack genuine communal interactions. My film explores the increasing societal fragmentation and underscores the need for transcending ideological divides to create spaces for public dialogue. This narrative reflects the broader context of China's rapid urbanization over the past decades, highlighting the dissonance between economic growth and evolving social values. The resulting conflicts epitomize the challenges faced today. Through the symbolic setting of a park, my film seeks to re-emphasize the spirit of "the public" and explore the possibilities of coexistence and acceptance. It imagines a more harmonious public life, encouraging viewers to envision a better communal future.
