我相信痕跡比語言誠實。

《夜廻》裡有兩個女孩，一個清醒地遊走，一個彷彿罹患了失語。我試圖拍攝的是她們將說未說之時，在語言的缺席中所發生的事情：一段被交換的沉默，一次悄悄互換的位置。

台南在片子裡，與其說是一座真實的城市，更像是她們共用的一場夢。那些巷弄與紅光，那潮濕的黑暗，它們溢出地理的邊界，更接近夢的地形。於是她們在其中行走，穿梭，在彼此的夢境中探索，舉行著唯一還能進行的儀式。

這不是一個關於隔閡的故事。她們無法選擇該去哪裡，卻仍然在黑暗中，倚靠著沉默來確認彼此的存在。

I believe a mark is more honest than a word.

In A Night Tale, there are two girls—one moves through the night wide awake, the other as though stricken mute. What I try to film is what happens in the absence of language, in that instant between about to speak and not speaking: an exchanged silence, a quietly swapped position.

In the film, Tainan is less a real city than a dream the two of them share. Its alleyways and red light, its damp darkness, spill past the borders of geography—closer to the terrain of a dream. So they walk through it, move through it, searching inside each other's dreams, performing the only ritual still left to them.

This is not a story about estrangement. They cannot choose where to go, and yet, in the dark, through silence alone, they still find a way to confirm that the other exists.
