本片的重要靈感來自我父親停止駕駛的經歷，那是一個我所見證的、關於獨立與身份逐漸退去的安靜時刻。同時，它也源於我自身對時間流逝的感知，以及對衰老的理解——記憶在消逝中仍然存在，而人生則在可預見與不可預見之間持續前行。

This film stems from my personal reflections on aging, memory, and family. At its centre is Hock, an elderly widower preparing to leave his home and begin a new life with his son overseas. Yet, he finds it difficult to let go of his car — an object that holds memory, love, and absence. Shaped by moments where past and present collide, and where encounters with others offer pause for reflection, the film dwells on what it means to move forward — not as a clean break, but as a continuous act of holding on and letting go.
A key inspiration for the film is my father’s experience of stopping driving for good, a moment I witnessed as a quiet loss of independence and identity. It also arises from my own growing awareness of time passing and aging, where memory persists even as it fades, and life continues, both predictably and unpredictably.
