Yu-An JAO
Yu-An JAO, (b.1997), an artist and animation director currently based in Taipei, Taiwan. She obtained an BA degree from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2020. JAO is fascinated by forms such as illustration, graphic novel, animation, and video, focusing on the depiction of “memories” ,“losing” and “emotions”. Adept at being retrospective, introspective, and organizing stuff (just not her room).

畫面與聲音相輔相成，配樂、音效與動畫質感調和出獨具特色的風格，對於「觸覺」的描繪十分細緻，故事主軸圍繞在失去視力的主角，也巧妙的讓觀眾們的感官打開。透過日常碎片，拼貼出生命的無常，更顯每個平凡的生活片段的奢侈珍貴。「致生命中無數個，奢侈平凡的夜晚」。
This is my graduation project in Taipei National University of the Arts in 2020. I often have a feeling at night that today is so normal and nothing special. Some people I love have already passed, some of them stay….We’re all different people and life is so short, but we spend some moments together. I think the encounter and separation are beautiful, that might be ordinary, but extravagant.
