Everyone, and everything, deserves a second chance. 17-year-old Xuan grew up in a recycling yard. In this confined world, the only opportunity she gets to hang out with her friends is when she’s out collecting recyclables from neighbors… The film takes a realistic approach to portray the protagonist’s yearn for freedom from the environment that she grew up in.

《回收場的夏天》陳浩維 導演
CHEN Hao-Wei, born in Taichung, Taiwan. His first film “Irritable Boy”(2021), which was funded by the PTS Innovative Story, was nominated for Best New Performer in the Taipei Film Festival, awarded Best Directing in the Seoul International Children's Film Festival, Special Jury Prize and Best Performer in the Golden Harvest Awards. His new short, “Reclaim My Summer”(2023), received yet another funding from the PTS, and was nominated for the Busan International Film Festival and the Golden Horse Awards for Best Live Action Short Film, and awarded the Golden Bell Award for Sound Design in Drama Programs, and was nominated for the Best Newcomer in Mini-Series. His works often focus on the conflict of values between young people and the environment in which they grew up, and evoke the common memory of the audience through realistic depictions of life.
